About the time summer fades into fall in Southern California absolutely nothing changes, we still have the same great weather and the palm trees don’t change color. So, while the rest of the nation marks the season change and cooler weather, San Diego hosts the largest military air show in the United States as the city kicks off Fleet Week.

For the first time, Disneyland Star Wars Nite ignited the passions of West Coast fans. Until now, Disney’s Star Wars Weekends and then Galactic Nights were always a special Florida treat in the magic of Walt Disney World. Disneyland attendees had to travel across the country or miss out on this Disney Star Wars experience. All that changed on May 3rd, when Disneyland Star Wars Nite celebrated Star Wars Day (May the 4th) with a sold-out Disneyland After-Dark special ticketed event. Loscon 44 was held last weekend, November 24-26, 2017 in Los Angeles. This convention has traditionally been focused on science fiction and fantasy literature. This means he lead the Star Wars Fan Club and wrote the now-classic newsletter – Bantha Tracks.

As a fan of Star Wars, a trip to Salt Lake Comic Con needs to be on your list of to do items. Still small enough to have the opportunity to get in to almost every panel you want, yet big enough to pull in top names in the Star Wars community. The quality of programming for the panels was top notch. In almost all of the panels, the subject was engaging and left you satisfied, wanting more. Salt Lake Comic Con is the one you want to go to if you want intelligent Star Wars conversation by panelists with a high Star Wars IQ. It is not built around a breaking news or product reveals circus. A refreshing and enjoyable convention, add it to your list!
“A Jedi in the Streets”: Mark Hamill Honored with a Street Sign in Clairemont, California
STAR WARS REPORTER
As if becoming a Disney Legend wasn’t an exalted enough honor for our favorite Jedi, Mark Hamill has had a street named after him in Clairemont, California, which is a suburb of San Diego. Well, okay, his name is ‘honorary’ (the official street name, Castleton Drive, remains) and, as he put it, he’s [Hamill] “kinda’ on probation”. Let’s *ahem* hope his actions in The Last Jedi don’t warrant the dissolution of Mark Hamill Drive.
